The Ecuadorian Maritime Chamber (CAMAE), represented by its president, Eng. Andrés Padilla Almeida, will participate in the 2026 Symposium: "Financing, Regulation, and Conflicts in the Construction and Strategic Infrastructure Sector of Ecuador," a meeting that will bring together government authorities, multilateral organizations, investors, and national and international experts to analyze the challenges and investment opportunities in the country's infrastructure.
During his intervention, the president of CAMAE will present the particularities of the successful Ecuadorian port development model, highlighting how the participation of the private sector, legal certainty, and infrastructure modernization have allowed attracting significant investments, strengthening logistical competitiveness, and consolidating Ecuadorian ports as strategic platforms for foreign trade.
The event will feature the participation of Eng. Roberto Luque, the highest authority in infrastructure and transport in the country, whose management has promoted initiatives aimed at fostering investment and the development of strategic projects. Also present will be representatives of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), private investors, and specialists in financing, regulation, and conflict resolution.
The presence of the IDB provides a key perspective on financing mechanisms for strategic infrastructure projects. As one of the main multilateral development organizations in the region, the bank promotes initiatives aimed at strengthening the competitiveness, sustainability, and resilience of infrastructure, also promoting partnerships between the public and private sectors to facilitate new investments.
The Symposium will be held on June 10, 2026, in the Auditorium of the Faculty of Civil Engineering of the Catholic University of Santiago de Guayaquil, becoming a strategic dialogue space to analyze the future of Ecuadorian infrastructure and the necessary mechanisms to guarantee sustainable and attractive projects for investment.
