Inocar forecasts high-energy swell on the Ecuadorian coast between June 16 and 18
The Oceanographic and Antarctic Institute of the Navy (Inocar) reported high-energy swell originating from the South Pacific that will affect the continental and insular coast of Ecuador between June 16 and 18, 2026. The highest intensity is expected during June 16 and 17 in provinces such as Esmeraldas, Manabí, Santa Elena, Guayas, El Oro, and Galápagos, generating periods of rough and very rough seas with the possibility of rip currents. Inocar recommended maintaining preventive measures for navigators, fishermen, tourism operators, and users of coastal areas.
