President Daniel Noboa ordered the deployment of a security operation in the province of El Oro and the strengthening of control in Puerto Bolívar, one of the country's main maritime terminals for agricultural exports and containerized cargo. The measure was coordinated with Defense Minister Gian Carlo Loffredo, as part of a strategy aimed at reinforcing state presence and ensuring operational stability in strategic areas for Ecuadorian foreign trade.
The operation includes reinforced controls at port accesses, container supervision, maritime patrols, and monitoring of logistics corridors linked to cargo transport. Puerto Bolívar plays a key role in Ecuador's maritime connectivity with markets in America, Europe, and Asia, especially in the movement of agro-export products. Therefore, authorities prioritize strengthening port security standards and the continuity of logistics and customs operations.
The intervention reaffirms the importance of Ecuadorian port infrastructure within global supply chains and regional maritime trade. Likewise, the increase in control and surveillance measures could contribute to improving cargo traceability, strengthening the confidence of international operators, and consolidating the competitiveness of Ecuadorian ports in the context of international trade and maritime security in the Pacific.
