High-Energy Swell Will Modify Maritime Conditions in Ecuador and Galapagos
Ecuador's continental and insular coasts will experience an increase in wave energy between June 23 and 25, according to an analysis by the Oceanographic and Antarctic Institute of the Navy (INOCAR). Wave heights of up to 2.40 meters are expected in the Galapagos and close to 1.90 meters on the continental coast, especially in Santa Elena and Guayas. Authorities recommended caution to sailors, fishermen, and maritime operators due to rip currents.
