IMO Negotiates Resumption of Evacuation in Strait of Hormuz After Evergreen Attack
The International Maritime Organization is working with Iran, Oman, and the United States to resume the evacuation of stranded vessels in the Strait of Hormuz, which was paused after an attack on an Evergreen container ship. According to Secretary-General Arsenio Domínguez, 115 vessels had already sailed before the pause, while approximately 500 ships still need to be evacuated. The operation faces obstacles due to the presence of about 80 explosive mines in the central section.
