The crude oil tanker Sanmar Herald arrived safely at the Paradip Port on 1 July after encountering hostilities in the Strait of Hormuz. All the crew were reported safe, while the vessel sustained damage in the incident.

According to the Paradip Port Authority, the vessel carried Basrah Medium and Basrah Heavy crude oil from Iraq when hostilities erupted in the region. Operating in coordination with the Indian Navy, the vessel experienced prolonged delays while attempting to transit the Strait of Hormuz.
Following the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, the vessel resumed its voyage and arrived at Paradip port safely.
Sanmar Herald is a 2007-built crude oil tanker sailing under the flag of India. The vessel measures 333 meters in length and 60.04 meters in width.
