Samsung Delivers 16,556 TEU Ever Even to Evergreen

This week, the Samsung Heavy Industries (SHI) shipyard delivered the 16,556 TEU Ever Even, the sixth vessel in a series of 16 sister ships with a methanol dual-fuel propulsion system built for the shipping company Evergreen Marine, which were ordered in 2023 for a value close to USD 195 million per unit.

“The new Ever Even reaches 369 meters in length and 53.6 meters in beam (21 rows of containers). The vessels of Evergreen's new E-class register a deadweight of 184,268 tons with a maximum draft of 17.5 meters,” Alphaliner reported.

“The vessels are equipped with MAN B&W 9G95ME-C10.5-LGIM-TIII main engines that produce a power of 43,200 kW, allowing them to reach a service speed of up to 22 knots,” it added.

Through five generators, up to 20,360 kW of electricity is produced, which would provide enough power to supply about 1,200 refrigerated containers.

“Evergreen's Ever Even begins its operations on OCEAN Alliance's NEU7 service, a route that the company commercially calls CES. In this loop, the new vessel replaces the Ever Fit, an 11,800 TEU ship,” the consultancy noted.

“This CES service operates with a mixed fleet composed of first-generation megamax container ships (belonging to Evergreen's G-class, of 20,160 TEU) and all E-class series vessels delivered to date. Along with these units, two additional vessels of 14,000 and 15,000 TEU complete the deployment of the loop,” it added.
