SAAM [SM SAAM] reported profits of USD 38 million in the first half of 2026 (-6%) compared to the same period last year. EBITDA, meanwhile, totaled USD 103 million (+3%), revenues reached USD 333 million (+10%), and operating income remained stable at USD 48 million.
The result was influenced by higher fuel and maintenance costs and exchange rate effects.
"The performance in the first half of the year confirms the solidity and resilience of our business model in tugboats and air logistics, with a significant increase in revenues. Higher activity and a better tariff mix allowed us to better face the increase in costs. At the same time, we continue to invest to generate new growth capabilities, strengthen processes, and advance in systems," said SAAM's General Manager, Hernán Gómez.
Among the highlights of the semester are the closing of the acquisition of 30% of Intertug, with which SAAM reached 100% ownership; the incorporation of new tugboats into the fleet in Chile and Mexico; new contracts in Aerosan; and the payment of the final dividend to shareholders for USD 60.4 million.
