Pacific International Lines (PIL) has partnered with process intelligence firm Celonis and WNS, part of Capgemini, to expand its global Process Intelligence Center of Excellence (CoE), accelerating PIL's digital transformation across 90 countries.
Headquartered in Singapore, PIL operates a fleet of over 100 container ships, requiring high visibility across diverse global routes.
The company uses the Celonis platform to create a dynamic, real-time digital twin of its operations, enabling teams across the organization to precisely understand how processes are applied and where improvements can be made.
WNS, an intelligent operations and transformation company for the shipping and logistics industry, brings its maritime sector expertise to the Center of Excellence, helping to integrate Celonis' unique capabilities into PIL's systems.
Together, PIL expects to achieve comprehensive visibility of global shipping workflows, from customer-facing operations to back-office processes; faster identification and resolution of operational inefficiencies through process standardization across all business operations; and a foundation for AI-powered automation, enabling smarter and more resilient operations at scale.
"In the shipping sector, we often work with dozens of different systems worldwide, making it difficult to identify where slowdowns occur. We use Celonis because it provides us with a unique and clear view of how our processes work in practice. It's not just about efficiency; it's about learning to optimize our operations, integrating automation and AI by design into this continuous improvement process to empower our resources, provide better service to our customers, and keep the global supply chain moving," said Lionel Chatelet, Chief Commercial Officer at PIL.
"PIL is demonstrating how having the right operational context improves the functioning of the shipping sector. By equipping its enterprise AI with a comprehensive and dynamic model of business operations, PIL is creating the optimal conditions for it to generate real results and a rapid return on investment. We are proud to support them in transforming their operations globally and setting a new standard of performance across the industry," stated Pascal Coubard, VP APAC at Celonis.
"Shipping companies like PIL need more than technology; they need the expertise to transform process knowledge into operational changes. The Center of Excellence we are creating together will permanently integrate that capability into PIL's organization, providing them with the foundation to continuously optimize and scale," concluded Jaison Augustine, Business Unit Head for Shipping and Logistics at WNS.
