In order to keep providing you with our global services, Maersk is revising the Heavy Weight Surcharge for 20 dry containers with Verified Gross Mass (VGM) exceeding 20 metric tons from India to Latin America for B1S and X5ML
Effective price calculation date 15th August 2026.
Effective price calculation date for Puerto Rico and Colombia would be 30th August 2026.
The New tariff levels are as follows:
| Origin | Destination | Effective Date | Currency | 20 DRY | VGM Weight |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| India (Nhava sheva /Mumbai / Mundra Hazira / Pipavav) only | Latin America(except Puerto Rico and Colombia) | 15-Aug-26 | USD | 1200 | > 20 metric tons |
| India (Nhava sheva /Mumbai / Mundra Hazira / Pipavav) only | Puerto Rico and Colombia | 30-Aug-26 | USD | 1200 | > 20 metric tons |
* Non-SPOT booking – The above rate is retrieved based on PCD. PCD = Price Calculation Date. For non-FMC, PCD refers to the scheduled departure date of the first water leg at the time of booking confirmation for non-spot bookings. For FMC, PCD is last container gate-in date for non-spot bookings.
* SPOT booking – The above rate is retrieved based on 1st vessel ETD at booking confirmation for Spot bookings.
When Verified Gross Mass (VGM) exceeds the weight threshold, Heavy Load Surcharge will be triggered. The Verified Gross Mass (VGM) is the weight of the cargo including dunnage and bracing plus the tare weight of the container carrying this cargo.
Please note that this is applicable on contract bookings only.
