Damen Shipyards Group signed a contract with port and tug operator Svitzer for the acquisition of an ASD Tug 2312. Delivery of the vessel is scheduled for late 2026 and it will enter service at the Port of Bristol.
This will be the first Damen ASD Tug 2312 deployed by Svitzer in Bristol, thus expanding the company's fleet of Damen tugs.

Thanks to the combination of our standardized designs and quick availability, we can offer reliable, high-quality vessels when our customers need them. We are extremely proud to be able to adapt our proven tug designs to the operational needs of one of the world's leading towing companies."
The compact, multi-purpose ASD Tug 2312 model offers a 70-ton bollard pull, and the combination of Damen's patented Twin Fin and twin azimuthal stern thrusters allows for precise maneuverability, even in confined port environments.
Additionally, the unit is equipped with Damen's classification society-approved NOx reduction system, ensuring compliance with IMO Tier III emission standards. The exhaust gas after-treatment system reduces nitrogen oxide emissions by approximately 80% compared to IMO Tier II requirements.
The vessel will also be equipped with a modular FiFi-1 firefighting system, integrated during its construction. The 23-meter long ASD Tug 2312 has a beam of 12 meters and a draft of 5.4 meters.
Propulsion is provided by two Caterpillar 3512TA engines, offering a combined power of 5102 hp. Two 2.8-meter azimuthal stern propellers and the patented Twin Fin system provide enhanced maneuverability.
