A ceremonial steel-cutting was held at Fincantieri's Marghera shipyard to mark the start of construction for Crystal Grace, scheduled for delivery in May 2028.
The 62,000gt ship is first in a series of three.
"As we look to the future, we are focused on creating ships that feel both deeply rooted in Crystal's heritage and unmistakably modern, where space, service and experience come together in a way that is both intuitive and extraordinary. Crystal Grace will do that for the brand, and we are so proud that this moment with our partners at Fincantieri brings that vision one step closer to reality," said Cristina Levis, CEO of A&K Travel Group.
Levis was accompanied by Crystal executives Roberto Fazi, SVP marine, and Bernie Leypold, SVP hotel operations; Luigi Matarazzo, GM of Fincantieri's Merchant Ships Division; Marco Lunardi, director of Marghera Shipyard, and officials from classification society RINA, among others.
Matarazzo called it a "moment of great pride for our team and a significant milestone in our relationship with Crystal and the Lefebvre family. Over the years, we have built a partnership grounded in trust, shared values and an unwavering commitment to excellence. We are honored to once again bring Crystal's vision to life, shaping a vessel that reflects both the brand's distinguished heritage and its exciting future."
Fincantieri carried out the significant refurbishments of Crystal Serenity and Crystal Symphony after they were acquired by A&K Travel Group, along with subsequent dry dock upgrades, and A&K Travel Group Executive Chairman Manfredi Lefebvre d'Ovidio has a long relationship with the builder, going back to Silversea. Levis also has a Silversea background.
Crystal Grace's inaugural cruise is scheduled for June 11 from Civitavecchia (Rome) to Fusina (Venice), eight nights.
