The Ministry of Transport and Communications (MTC), through the National Port Authority (APN), together with the Secretariat of the Inter-American Committee on Ports (S/CIP) of the Organization of American States (OAS), launched the course "Cabotage: Historical Perspective and its Link to Port Development," which runs until June 19, 2026, through the APN's virtual campus.
The training brings together 19 professionals from port authorities in Bolivia, Guatemala, Panama, and Peru, who will strengthen their knowledge of maritime cabotage, its operational and logistical framework, and its impact on port development and regional maritime trade integration.
Furthermore, the academic program promotes the exchange of experiences and best practices among participants from different countries. The initiative seeks to contribute to more efficient port management aligned with the current challenges of the sector.
The sessions are led by APN specialists and professionals with extensive experience in the maritime-port sector, who will share knowledge and experiences applied to the development of port activity in the region.
With this action, the MTC reaffirms its commitment to specialized training and capacity building in the National Port System, promoting international cooperation and the development of the port sector.
