During the first half of 2026, the total container volume moved by Kuehne+Nagel's Sea Logistics business unit reached 2.1 million TEU. Meanwhile, net turnover amounted to USD 2.7 billion, with an EBIT of USD 172 million, while the conversion margin stood at 29%, representing a sequential improvement of four percentage points compared to the first quarter of 2026.
The second quarter of 2026 was characterized by continuous efficiency improvements across the network and market share growth in trade between Asia, Europe, and North America. Exports from Europe remained moderate due to the weak economy. Thanks to rigorous cost management, Kuehne+Nagel partially offset this decline by reducing production costs.
Overall, the Kuehne+Nagel Group recorded a solid business performance in the second quarter of 2026. Net turnover increased by 8% year-on-year, reaching USD 8.125 billion. Based on the results for the January-June period, the company now forecasts a full-year recurring EBIT in the range of USD 1.66 billion to USD 1.9 billion.
Joerg Wolle, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Kuehne+Nagel International, stated that "in the first half of 2026, we successfully capitalized on our strategic strengths in an environment marked by significant changes and uncertainty in global trade. Thanks to the consistent execution of our efficiency program and a solid operational performance, the Group further improved its capabilities and attractiveness to customers. With the opening of a new IT center in India, we are making strategic investments in efficiency, as well as in our innovation and technology capabilities."
"In view of the positive business development and the strengthening of our market position, we are raising our profit forecast for the full fiscal year 2026," Wolle concluded.
