EPA and TPA Meet with Bolivian Drivers at Arica Foreport

Executives from Empresa Portuaria Arica (EPA) and Terminal Puerto Arica (TPA) visited the Foreport facilities to meet with Bolivian drivers. The meeting is part of the activities to engage with stakeholders in the logistics community and commemorate Bolivia's Independence Day.

Through a statement, TPA provided details of the event, reporting that "the day allowed for a close conversation, addressing the operational situation of the port, progress in the process of normalizing services, and joint efforts to improve the efficiency and safety of logistical operations."

In this regard, Pablo Véliz, TPA's Operations Manager, stated that "we know it is difficult to be away from home and family on a day like today, which is why we wanted to accompany them on such an important date for Bolivia. They are our brothers and also our strategic partners; the port cannot be conceived without the effort of transportation, and for this reason, we have redoubled our work to respond as quickly as possible."

Meanwhile, Javier Rivera, EPA's Concessions and Logistics Manager, said that "each company and each worker is a link in this great chain. The collaborative work of Bolivian and Chilean state institutions resolved a problem that originated over 52 days, but today we see a recovery thanks to your patience, which we greatly value. We want services to be increasingly efficient, safe, and orderly."

"The Foreport emerged 12 years ago and has been growing, significantly improving spaces and services for transporters, benefits that we do not see in other logistical systems of the macro-region, all because we recognize the responsibility that cargo transport entails, and we want to ensure that the waiting and planning times are as least fatiguing as possible and that at the end of the day they can arrive safely home, actions that translate into benefits for drivers and for all Bolivian foreign trade," Rivera emphasized.

Finally, it was reported that "the activity concluded with a special greeting to the Bolivian drivers on their national day and with the commitment to continue strengthening spaces for dialogue and collaboration with those who play an essential role in the logistical and commercial integration between Chile and Bolivia," the statement concluded.
