The Investigative Police (PDI) and the San Antonio Prosecutor's Office dismantled a criminal organization dedicated to drug trafficking, which was preparing to move a shipment from the San Antonio port facility to international destinations.

The PDI and the Criminal Analysis System of the San Antonio Prosecutor's Office dismantled a criminal organization dedicated to drug trafficking, which used Chile as a platform to supply international markets via sea," the PDI reported.
"The investigation, developed together with the Chilean Navy's Maritime Police, the National Customs Service, the Australian Border Force (ABF), and the US Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), led to the arrest of 10 defendants of Mexican, Colombian, and Chilean nationalities," it added.
In line with the information provided, the criminal gang provided drug transport and import services. In this regard, Commissioner Paulina González, head of the Valparaíso Anti-Narcotics Brigade (Briant), indicated that the drug imports originated from the United States, the United Kingdom, and the Netherlands.
The criminal group maintained its operations center in the Metropolitan Region and was preparing to send a shipment of 400 kilograms of cocaine through the Port of San Antonio at the time of their arrest.
"What they wanted was to export this drug to different countries. The storage center of this criminal organization was detected and located in Santiago, Chile, leading to the seizure," González stated.
"The seized shipment could have reached a value close to 126 million Australian dollars, equivalent to more than 78 billion Chilean pesos," the PDI specified.
