Non-copper, non-lithium exports from the Antofagasta Region totaled USD 3.130 million in the first half of 2026, according to information from ProChile's Market Intelligence Sub-department, based on data from the National Customs Service.
"We are very pleased with the export figures for this first half, which represent a 70% growth compared to the same period last year," said Marcia Rojas, regional director of ProChile Antofagasta, who also highlighted that these results confirm the region's export potential and the importance of continuing to promote the diversification of the regional basket.
"These figures are a very positive sign for Antofagasta because they demonstrate that the region has a competitive and high-potential offering in international markets. While manufacturing and minerals remain key sectors, we also see significant progress in services. As ProChile, our commitment is to continue supporting regional companies so they can open new markets, diversify destinations, and take advantage of the opportunities offered by international trade," Rojas stated.
The manufacturing sector led regional shipments with exports totaling USD 1.973 million and a growth of 100.4%. Among the most relevant products were iodine with shipments of USD 749 million, sulfates with USD 711 million, and animal or vegetable fertilizers, which totaled USD 223 million.
The mineral sector also stood out, recording foreign sales of USD 1.137 million (+35.8%), with molybdenum (USD 732 million) and gold derivatives (USD 387 million) being prominent, with shipments mainly to Switzerland (USD 387 million), Japan (USD 196 million), and South Korea (USD 186 million).
ProChile also highlights service exports, which showed positive performance with shipments of USD 9 million and an increase of 112.7%.
"Regarding the diversification of our export matrix, services are, without a doubt, a great example of the excellent capacity of regional companies to generate solutions for sectors such as mining or logistics, which are increasingly preferred by buyers in international markets," emphasized Marcia Rojas.
Foreign sales of services in this first half were mainly destined for the United Kingdom (USD 6 million), Argentina (USD 2 million), and the United States (USD 1 million).
In the first six months of the year, a total of 134 companies from the region sent 359 products to 53 markets. China was the main destination for Antofagasta's exports with sales of USD 1.065 million, followed by Switzerland (USD 388 million) and Japan (USD 202 million).
