Iran Detains 'Ocean Koi' Tanker Apparently Hauling Iranian Oil
Iran's naval commandos seized the tanker Ocean Koi in the Gulf of Oman, which appeared to be a sanctioned vessel carrying Iranian oil. State television reported the vessel was attempting to disrupt oil exports and exploit regional conditions. The tanker is managed by Ocean Kudos Shipping Co. in Shanghai. The seizure occurred amid ongoing tensions between the US and Iran near the Strait of Hormuz, where Washington has imposed a naval blockade since mid-April to prevent Tehran's oil from reaching global markets.
