Canadian Coast Guard Rescues Three from Disabled Trimaran in North Pacific
The Canadian Coast Guard cutter Sir Wilfrid Laurier completed a long-distance rescue mission on June 18, retrieving three crew members from the disabled sailing trimaran Mizuya approximately 825 nautical miles southwest of Adak. The vessel had lost rudder control in 15-foot waves and strong winds. The survivors were later transferred to the Japan Coast Guard patrol vessel Kurikoma for transport back to Japan.
