Windstar Cruises has opened reservations for its 2028–2029 Asia deployment aboard the 112-suite Star Seeker, offering a series of voyages across Japan, Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia and Singapore.
The programme features 25 departures operating between September 2028 and May 2029, complemented by optional pre- and post-cruise land extensions to destinations including Hanoi, Angkor Wat, Chiang Mai and Kyoto.
Guests booking before July 31st can take advantage of an early reservation incentive that includes preferred stateroom selection, a complimentary all-inclusive package, onboard credit of US$100 per guest and a 5% reduction in cruise fares for bookings paid in full at the time of reservation.
Windstar reported strong demand for its Asia programme, noting that bookings for Star Seeker's 2027 sailings had nearly doubled compared with the same period a year earlier. Chief Commercial Officer Janet Bava indicated that the trend reflected growing interest in travel experiences that offer greater immersion and a more personal connection with destinations. She noted that Star Seeker's smaller size allows the vessel to berth closer to city centres such as Bangkok and Ho Chi Minh City, while also providing access to smaller ports and destinations beyond the reach of larger cruise ships.
The vessel's dimensions enable direct access to the heart of destinations that are often served by remote commercial ports. In Vietnam and Thailand, guests can arrive closer to the cultural and commercial centres of major cities, while itineraries also include calls at smaller locations such as Krabi and Ko Yao Noi.
Windstar has supplemented its itineraries with a range of curated shore experiences developed specifically for its guests. In Japan, the "Traditions of Tomonoura & the Inland Sea" excursion offers access to one of the country's historic port towns, featuring tea ceremonies, traditional koto music, preserved Edo-period streets and exclusive visits to the Ota Family Residence.
As the official cruise line of the James Beard Foundation, Windstar also places a strong emphasis on regional cuisine. Guests can expect destination-inspired dining onboard, together with guided culinary excursions, market visits and food-focused experiences ashore.
Among the featured voyages is the 10-night Grand Japan itinerary, sailing between Tokyo and Osaka with calls at smaller ports such as Karatsu and scenic cruising through the Inland Sea.
The 10-night Vietnam & Cambodia Revealed voyage includes overnight stays in Ho Chi Minh City and Halong Bay/Hanoi, allowing additional time to explore the region's history and coastal landscapes, with optional overland visits to Angkor Wat.
The 10-night East Asian Legends itinerary links Vietnam, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Japan, calling at destinations including Taipei, Okinawa, Amami and Ishigaki.
The 11-night Tantalizing Thailand & Sparkling Singapore voyage operates between Bangkok and Phuket, featuring floating markets, island destinations and an overnight stay in Singapore.
For travellers seeking a combination of land and sea exploration, the 18-night Legendary Temples: Chiang Mai & Angkor Wat Cruise Tour combines a Southeast Asian cruise with an extended inland programme that includes three nights in Chiang Mai and a guided visit to Angkor Wat.
At the upper end of the programme, the 41-night Grand Asia Explorer Star Collector voyage links several itineraries into a single extended journey between Phuket and Tokyo. The sailing includes overnight stays in four major cities and scenic navigation along both the Saigon and Chao Phraya rivers.
