Port Canaveral begins $95M modernization of Cruise Terminal 10

Construction has commenced on a major expansion of Cruise Terminal 10 at Port Canaveral (Florida), with the US$95 million redevelopment scheduled for completion in November 2027. The 145,000-square-foot facility is being modernized to accommodate some of the cruise industry's largest vessels, including ships carrying up to 6,700 passengers.

The redesigned terminal will feature a contemporary layout with spacious passenger areas, expanded use of natural light through a new glass façade, modern interior finishes and artwork, as well as upgraded security screening and baggage handling facilities. The project also includes the installation of new elevators and escalators, enhanced wayfinding signage and modernized heating, ventilation and air-conditioning systems, all intended to improve the embarkation and disembarkation experience.

Port Canaveral Chief Executive Officer Captain John W. Murray stated that the redevelopment incorporates operational experience gained over many years of cruise operations. He indicated that the objective is to create a terminal that combines operational efficiency with an enhanced passenger environment while continuing to support the high standards expected by the port's cruise partners and their guests.

The Cruise Terminal 10 project forms part of the Port Canaveral Advantage capital improvement programme, a long-term investment approaching US$1 billion that encompasses infrastructure upgrades, technology enhancements and operational improvements across the port's facilities. Home to seven cruise brands operating more than 1,000 sailings annually from 18 homeported ships, Port Canaveral continues to invest in expanding its capacity to meet growing demand from the global cruise industry.
