Fred. Olsens Cruise Lines announced its first dance-themed cruise featuring choreographer Dame Arlene Phillips and television personality Ian Waite as headline acts.
Departing Southampton on December 13, Olivier award-winning Phillips, recognised as one of the UK's most celebrated choreographers, will join professional dancer Waite for the specially curated voyage. Both celebrities will host "An Audience With" sessions and meet-and-greet events with passengers, while Waite will conduct a dance masterclass during the cruise.
The "Celebration of Dance at Sea" programme has been developed in collaboration with Fred. Olsen's entertainment partner RWS Global. The onboard experience will encompass live production shows, visiting dance entertainers, interactive workshops, social dance events, dance film screenings and themed entertainment across multiple dance styles including ballroom, Latin, sequence, tap and line-dancing.
The sailing will conclude with a Gatsby-inspired party incorporating festive elements.
Doug Glenwright, guest experience director at Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines, said: "This is set to be a very special cruise as it's a first for us at Fred. Olsen – our inaugural dance-themed cruise.
"Dance has always been an important part of our on-board experience and this cruise will really shine a spotlight on this – at a time of year when we know the nation will be putting on their dancing shoes."
The five-night sailing aboard Borealis includes calls at Amsterdam and Honfleur during the festive season. Amsterdam will feature illuminated canals as part of the annual Light Festival, with Museumplein transformed into a winter gathering place offering ice skating and traditional stalls. Honfleur provides a contrasting experience with cobbled streets, timber-framed houses and harbour views.
Prices start from £499 per person. Customers booking by June 30 can access Fred. Olsen's Freedom Fare Price Promise, guaranteeing either a cabin upgrade or onboard credit if equivalent cabins are later reduced in price. Freedom Fare bookings include cabin selection, dining time preferences and table size options.
A half-price premium drinks package is available for bookings made by July 30, priced at £22 per person per night, covering specialty wines, spirits, beers, cocktails and soft drinks throughout the day.
