Emerald Cruises & Tours officially christened the Emerald Astra, the latest addition to its 10-ship European river fleet, at Amsterdam Cruise Port, marking a fundamental milestone for the brand in expanding its Emerald Star-Ships on the Rhine, Main, and Danube rivers.
With Toni Lanotte-Day, an American travel advisor, businesswoman, and one of Scenic Group's top global sellers, as godmother, the Emerald Astra was unveiled, featuring an elegant exterior design and bright, contemporary interiors inspired by MKM Yachts, Scenic Group's in-house shipbuilding division.
"The Emerald Astra reflects the Emerald Cruises brand's vision for global growth. It is contemporary, immersive, and connected to the destinations we visit," said Glen Moroney, Founder and Chairman of Scenic Group.
Ken Muskat, President of Scenic Group USA & Latam, highlighted that "the naming of the Emerald Astra represents an exciting step forward for Emerald Cruises & Tours, as we continue to expand our river fleet with carefully designed ships."
As Emerald Cruises continues to expand its fleet, in 2027 it will welcome the Emerald Lumi on the Seine River. The Emerald Astra not only represents a new star ship for the cruise line but also a testament to the innovation and vision that have characterized the Scenic Group for 40 years.
