Signature Travel Network, the luxury travel agency cooperative, appointed Norwegian Cruise Line veteran Damian Borg as general manager, Australia and New Zealand.
This newly created role establishes a full-time leadership presence in the region and reflects Signature's commitment to providing members and preferred partners with dedicated, market-specific support.
Since increasing its international presence following the pandemic, Signature has grown its network to include more than 90 member agency locations throughout Australia and New Zealand.
With more than 35 years of experience in the travel and tourism industry, Borg will oversee Signature's growth strategy across the region with a focus on strengthening local relationships while establishing and expanding the luxury cruise program designed for the market.
Borg brings an "impressive combination of leadership experience, deep industry relationships and a proven track record of driving growth throughout Australia, New Zealand and the broader Asia-Pacific region," according to Kimberly Waters, VP member acquisition at Signature Travel Network.
"His extensive background across multiple sectors of the travel industry, combined with his passion for building strong partnerships, makes him uniquely positioned to support our members and help expand Signature's presence," Waters said.
Borg most recently held the roles of senior director of sales, strategy & operations and senior director of sales, Asia Pacific at NCL, leading commercial strategy across Australia, New Zealand and Asia. He previously held senior leadership positions with Globus family of brands, Club Med, Virgin Australia and APT Travel Group. Borg also serves as a committee member of Visit USA Organisation Australia and as an NTIA custodian.
"Signature has built meaningful momentum in Australia and New Zealand, and I'm incredibly excited to join the network in a role dedicated to building relationships, creating opportunities, bringing people together and helping businesses grow," Borg said. "What excites me most is the opportunity to work alongside an outstanding group of members across Australia and New Zealand while continuing to strengthen relationships with our preferred partners."
He will attend Signature's 2026 Conference, Nov. 15-18 in Orlando, Florida, alongside more than 50 international members expected to participate.
Signature has more than 300 travel agencies with over 650 retail locations in the United States, Brazil, Australia, Europe, New Zealand, Mexico and the Caribbean. Signature members include more than 15,000 travel advisors worldwide that collectively generate more than $11b in annual travel sales.
