The AIDAluna sailed from Hamburg earlier this week to kick off a 21-night cruise to Iceland and Greenland.
The unique itinerary is highlighted by visits to eight destinations in the region, in addition to an overnight call in Ilulissat.
Following its departure from Germany on July 26, the AIDA Cruises vessel spent two days at sea before its arrival in Seydisfjordur, Iceland.
The AIDAluna also visited Akureyri before sailing to Greenland, where it is scheduled to arrive in early August, following three days at sea.
Visits to Nuuk, Ilulissat, Sisimiut and Nanortalik will follow. The 2009-built ship is also set to sail to Isafjord and Reykjavik before returning to Hamburg.
With a deployment focusing on longer voyages, the AIDAluna is scheduled to return to Iceland and Greenland as part of another cruise that sails in late August.
The new 21-night voyage sails from Hamburg to Warnemünde and features seven destinations in the region.
Before arriving back in Germany in mid-September, the cruise will also feature a visit to Stavanger, Norway and Skagen, Denmark.
Earlier this month, the AIDAluna also offered a 19-night voyage to Svalbard, the British Isles, Norway and Iceland.
The itinerary was highlighted by an overnight visit to Longyearbyen, an off-the-beaten-path destination for large cruise ships in Spitsbergen.
The 2,030-passenger vessel is also set to operate a 43-night cruise to the Caribbean and Bermuda later this year.
Sailing roundtrip from Hamburg, the month-long journey features visits to 18 destinations, including Hamilton, Bermuda; Roseau, Dominica; and Bridgetown, Barbados.
Now part of the AIDAselections lineup, the AIDAluna underwent a major refurbishment in 2023 as part of the AIDA Evolution modernization program.
The seven-week drydock included the addition of new features and fresh restaurant concepts, as well as an overall update of public areas and staterooms. Six family-friendly suites with private sun decks have also been built at the vessel's stern.
