DP World in Posorja was once again recognized as the most efficient port in Latin America in the Container Port Performance Index (CPPI) 2025, prepared by the World Bank and S&P Global Market Intelligence. The terminal reached 20th place worldwide among more than 400 ports evaluated and consolidated its position, for the second consecutive year, as the only Latin American port within the global top 20.
The recognition coincides with the incorporation of the new shipping service AX4 (NW4), operated by ONE and HMM, which directly connects Ecuador with Asia in approximately 21 days. This route is oriented towards the transport of strategic export products, such as shrimp, bananas, and broccoli, reducing dependence on transshipments and strengthening the logistical competitiveness of Ecuadorian foreign trade.
In parallel, the terminal is advancing in its port expansion process, with a quay that will reach 800 meters in length and an operational capacity of 1.4 million TEUs annually by the end of 2026. These investments strengthen the country's maritime connectivity, optimize export logistics chains, and consolidate Ecuador's position as a relevant player in international trade and regional maritime routes.
