The Guayaquil Port Terminal (TPG), operated by Hanseatic Global Terminals, has already accumulated over 1,000 hours of training for reachstacker operators and more than 1,200 hours for STS and RTG cranes so far in 2026, thanks to its latest generation simulators.
These training sessions have been deployed at different strategic levels—including induction, training, recertification, and reinforcement—consolidating the success of its new virtual simulation system.
"These pieces of equipment allow human talent to be trained in a virtual environment that faithfully reproduces real port conditions, guaranteeing the continuity of operations 24 hours a day without generating interruptions in commercial activity," highlighted TPG General Manager, Luisenrique Navas.
Navas added that "we are putting technology at the service of better service and giving more tools to our team."
According to TPG, the simulators constantly update the skills of experienced personnel, optimizing productivity levels. Furthermore, their use represents savings in energy and efficiency versus what it would entail to use real equipment.
Developed by the Finnish company Mevea, the equipment accurately reproduces the controls of cranes and port vehicles and allows operators to face adverse weather conditions, emergencies, and risk assessment.
