Inocar intensifies monitoring in maritime spaces due to the possible arrival of the El Niño phenomenon
The Oceanographic and Antarctic Institute of the Navy (Inocar) launched a scientific research campaign to evaluate climatic conditions off the Ecuadorian coast. The initiative collects data at 26 oceanographic stations to monitor changes in temperature and salinity. The data obtained will serve as a technical basis for government authorities to make timely decisions in response to the current yellow alert, allowing for the adjustment of prevention plans and the mitigation of flood risks in ports and vulnerable areas.
