Freight Rail Service to Be Suspended Until Tuesday 12 in Chiguayante Accident Zone

EFE Sur announced that starting Tuesday, May 12, one train track will be operational in the area of the accident that occurred on Saturday in Chiguayante. The derailment of a Fepasa freight train, which was transporting cellulose to a regional port, caused nine cars to go off the tracks. Authorities and Fepasa established a contingency plan to resume passenger and freight operations from the beginning of the day.
