Peru's Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Mincetur) has put into operation the new version of the Port Component of the Single Window for Foreign Trade (VUCE), a modernized platform that strengthens the management of processes related to the arrival, stay, and dispatch of vessels in the country's ports.
The system successfully completed its controlled trial period and begins its definitive operation as a 100% digital platform, which eliminates the use of physical documents, prevents duplication of information, and reduces operational times in the port logistics chain.
It is estimated that this modernization will directly benefit more than 25,000 vessels annually by improving the traceability of operations, increasing information transparency, and optimizing service times, thus contributing to the competitiveness of Peruvian foreign trade.
One of the main attributes of this new version is its real-time interoperability, which allows for more articulated management between private operators, such as maritime, river, and lake agents, and competent public entities, including: the National Port Authority (APN), Peru's Ministry of Transport and Communications (MTC), the National Superintendence of Migration (Migraciones), the Ministry of Production (Produce), the General Directorate of Captaincies and Coastguards (DICAPI), the National Agrarian Health Service (SENASA), the National Superintendence of Customs and Tax Administration (SUNAT), Peru's Ministry of Health (MINSA), and the Regional Health Directorates (DIRESAs).
As part of the implementation of the new Port Component, Mincetur, in coordination with the APN and other entities, executed a preparation and change management program. As a result, more than 350 users were trained nationwide through more than 90 technical-operational sessions, facilitating the adoption of the system by public and private stakeholders.
With the launch of this new version of the Port Component, Mincetur continues to strengthen VUCE as an integral platform of digital services, reaffirming its commitment to trade facilitation, logistics efficiency, and the country's economic development.
