USA: Georgia Ports' Gainesville Inland Port Begins Operations
The Gainesville Inland Port, part of the Georgia Ports Authority, has commenced operations with daily direct rail service to the Port of Savannah. GPA expects to shift 26,000 containers to rail transport in the first year, reducing truck traffic. With an investment of $134 million, the port will have an annual capacity of 200,000 containers.
