With the aim of strengthening the prevention of road accidents and promoting a culture of responsible driving, the Ministry of Transport and Communications (MTC), through the Road Safety Directorate (DSV), has been promoting the Organizational Road Safety Initiative, aimed at fostering good driving practices and bringing preventive messages to professional drivers in the transport and logistics sector.
Within the framework of this initiative, the MTC articulated joint actions with DP World, becoming one of the first logistics players to actively join this awareness and prevention strategy aimed at heavy cargo operators and drivers.
As part of this collaboration, an awareness day was held for cargo transport drivers who daily transit through DP World facilities, where information on safe driving was provided and preventive material was distributed to reinforce responsible behavior on the roads.
Likewise, the periodic dissemination of road safety messages prepared by the MTC was coordinated through DP World's "Juntos en la Ruta" WhatsApp channel, a tool that currently allows direct access to nearly a thousand professional drivers, with a projected progressive expansion of its reach.
This tool currently allows direct access to nearly a thousand professional drivers, with a projected progressive expansion of its reach. In addition, considering that approximately 2400 vehicles enter DP World facilities daily, this collaboration represents an important opportunity to bring prevention and road safety messages to a large number of drivers linked to cargo transport and logistics.
The MTC will continue to promote this type of strategic alliance with actors in the logistics and transport sector, with the purpose of expanding access to key information on road safety and further strengthening a culture of prevention and shared responsibility on the country's roads.
