The Panama Canal published Amendment No. 3 to the Prequalification Document for the Corozal and Telfers container port terminals initiative, as part of the procedure it is developing for the selection of the future concessionaire.
"The prequalification stage for this initiative began with the publication of the document on January 30, 2026, and was subsequently updated through Amendment No. 1, published on March 30, 2026, and Amendment No. 2, published on May 29, 2026," stated the ACP.
The Canal authority emphasized that "the publication of the prequalification document, the consultation period, the issuance of amendments, and deadline extensions are part of the mechanisms established in the Concessions Regulations of the Panama Canal Authority, which facilitate interaction between interested parties and the organization. The documentation submitted by participants will be evaluated according to the technical, financial, and legal criteria defined in the document and its respective amendments."
"The Corozal and Telfers container port terminals initiative aims to strengthen the country's logistical connectivity, expand capacities complementary to the Panama Canal, and take advantage of opportunities arising from the evolution of international maritime trade, contributing to the development of a more competitive and efficient port system," the ACP concluded.
