Panama Canal Board of Directors Appoints Ilya Espino de Marotta as Administrator for the 2026-2033 Period
The Board of Directors of the Panama Canal Authority has appointed engineer Ilya Espino de Marotta as administrator for the 2026-2033 period. Espino de Marotta, a marine engineer from Texas A&M University with over 40 years of experience at the Canal, has served as Deputy Administrator and Chief Sustainability Officer. The appointment is the result of a national and international search and evaluation process, including rigorous capacity tests and in-depth interviews.
