The Public Companies System (SEP) appointed the new board of directors for the San Antonio Port Company, which began its functions on June 1st.
The Council of the Public Companies System made the decision after accepting the resignation of the president appointed during the Gabriel Boric Government, Eduardo Abedrapo, in addition to confirming the departure of those who accompanied his board.
Abedrapo's replacement is Sergio Merino Gómez, who will remain in office until October 2, 2027, although this period – as is customary – could be renewed from that date.
The other members of the new board of directors appointed by the Government of José Antonio Kast are Gloria Claro Montes, Manuel Cañas Estévez, Ignacio Ossandón Irarrázabal, and Vesna Mandakovic.
The new directors, in turn, replace Renato Silva, Paola Tapia, Alejandra Gallegos, and Verónica Bilbao. The new directors will assume their positions for periods extending between 2027 and 2029, as established by the SEP Council.
The current board assumes the challenge of ensuring the continuity of the Outer Port project, but also that of initiating the re-tender process for the terminals currently occupied by San Antonio Terminal Internacional and Puerto Panul, among other matters related to strengthening transport and logistics associated with Chile's main port complex.
