The Government of the Province of Santa Fe presented the works plan for the Port of Santa Fe, an initiative that contemplates an investment exceeding USD 739,200. The amount will be allocated to modernize port infrastructure, incorporate state-of-the-art technology, optimize logistics, and develop new public spaces that integrate the port area with the city.
The program aims to strengthen provincial competitiveness, reduce the environmental impact of operations, and consolidate the facility as a strategic player within the Main Navigable Waterway.
"Infrastructure is the basis of productive development. With these works, the port once again becomes a protagonist of the waterway and an engine of the Santa Fe economy," said the Minister of Productive Development of Santa Fe, Gustavo Puccini.
Among the interventions already executed, the renovation of the loading pipelines, which optimize efficiency in bulk transfer, and the incorporation of the Spraycool system, designed to reduce emissions and suspended dust during operations, stand out. Both works are already in operation. Likewise, the construction of a new truck tipper has begun, which will multiply the unloading speed tenfold and improve safety conditions for operators.
The Secretary of Transport and Logistics, Mónica Alvarado, highlighted that "the Port of Santa Fe is transforming into a more efficient and safe space, with technology that improves operations and works that integrate it with the city. It is a fundamental step for logistics to accompany the productive growth of the province."
In parallel, the provincial government is advancing in the preparation of the bidding documents for new high-impact works, including the incorporation of an automatic sampler that will raise safety and quality control standards, aspiration systems to reduce particulate matter emissions, and the installation of solar panels, as part of the transition strategy towards more sustainable port operations.
The Undersecretary of Transport, Jorge Henn, emphasized that "these works consolidate the Port of Santa Fe as a key player within the Main Navigable Waterway. Governor Maximiliano Pullaro's political decision to invest in port infrastructure strengthens the competitiveness of our production and opens new opportunities for the entire region."
In addition to operational improvements, the 2026 Works Plan includes a series of urban interventions aimed at strengthening the port's connection with the city. These include the execution of the Ferroportuario Promenade, conceived as a safe and accessible public space, and the construction of new roundabouts on internal streets to organize the circulation of pedestrians, cyclists, and vehicles, increasing road safety.
The President of the Santa Fe Port Administration Entity, Leandro González, stated that "this plan is possible thanks to the province's decision to support the recovery of port infrastructure as an axis of productive development and the commitment of the Entity's workers and its Board of Directors. These are not isolated works, but a provincial strategy to recover the role of the Port of Santa Fe within the Santa Fe logistics matrix, with predictability and articulated work between the public and productive sectors."
As part of this long-term strategy, the provincial government is also working on the preparation of the bidding documents for the future tender of the Container and General Cargo Terminal, an initiative that will allow for the incorporation of private investment, the addition of technology, and the expansion of the facility's operational capacity to attract new cargo and boost the development of Santa Fe's foreign trade.
