Industrial parks are ideal spaces for generating added value, which is why facilities must be provided for companies to set up in these territories, said today the Minister of Production, César Quispe.
"For an industry to grow in an orderly, competitive manner, we need organized territories, which is what industrial parks aim to offer," he declared in an interview with the Regional Communication Network (RCR).
On May 12, the Ministry of Production (Produce) modified the guidelines for the promotion and sustainable management of industrial parks within the National System of Industrial Parks. To this end, Ministerial Resolution N° 000130-2026-Produce was published in the Legal Norms bulletin of the official gazette El Peruano.
He detailed that the regulatory update seeks to strengthen evaluation criteria in processes related to the National System of Industrial Parks. Likewise, it incorporates criteria aimed at promoting better sustainability practices through mechanisms that incentivize clean agreements and actions contributing to ecosystem care.
He referred to the case of four industrial parks developed through private initiatives such as Indupar, La Chutana, Sector 62, and Piura Futura.
"These are the first four industrial parks that have achieved high standards, but they need support, especially with bureaucracy," he said.
"As a state, we would have to provide all the facilities for companies that set up there," he added. "How do we simplify their operating licenses, their internal waste management, the issue of municipal taxes? If this is a closed area, like an industrial urbanization, how do we make it easier for them not to have a double payment, among other things," he mentioned.
He stated that the modifications are in line with the goal of continuing to incentivize and motivate the creation of more industrial parks in the country, led by private entities, and attracting more investments to the country.
Regarding the Ancón Industrial Park, he mentioned that it was awarded last December.
"It is expected that the investment to build this Industrial Park will exceed US$1 billion and that it will transform northern Lima into an important industrial logistics hub for the country, considering its more than 700 hectares," he highlighted.
Regarding the established deadlines, the minister said that the developer has three years to seek investment. First, the project is developed, and then local or international investments are attracted to the area, he pointed out.
"We have the advantage that the Ancón Industrial Park is in a strategic zone, between the Port of Chancay and the Port of Callao," he asserted.
The minister emphasized that investors are interested because Peru is becoming the logistical hub of the region.
"I am sure that the industry that sets up there will not only serve the national market but also the regional one," he said.
