Strait of Hormuz Traffic is Beginning to Return, But it is Hard to Spot
Commercial shipping through the Strait of Hormuz is resuming slowly despite conflicting guidance from U.S. and Iranian forces. According to Windward co-founder Ami Daniel, 50-60 percent of traffic operates with AIS, radar, satellite and VHF communications disabled to avoid targeting. Shipowners face competing routing instructions from Iran's Persian Gulf Strait Authority and U.S. Central Command, creating operational and security challenges.
