BYD Changzhou Makes First Call at Chilean Port

The car carrier vessel BYD Changzhou, from Chinese manufacturer BYD, made a call at DP World San Antonio, marking the company's first vessel to arrive at a Chilean port. The ship arrived from Taicang, China, after a previous stop at the port of Manta, Ecuador.

With a length of 200 meters and a capacity to transport up to 7,000 vehicles, the vessel discharged 1,918 units destined for the Chilean market. The Liberian-flagged vessel operates on a route between China and South America to transport electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles.

The journey of the BYD Changzhou reflects the growth of maritime transport of new energy vehicles between Asia and South America. The connection between different ports in the region expands logistical alternatives for vehicle distribution and strengthens international automotive trade.
