Logistics engineer Jani Lindroos has been selected as the CEO of the Port of Loviisa. The executive will assume the position after having served as Cargo Business Development Manager at the Port of Helsinki.
Previously, he worked as a business process expert in the petrochemical industry, managing, for example, international rail logistics and ship chartering operations. Lindroos has also worked as a logistics and Lean methodology consultant.
He will be responsible for the daily operational management of the Finnish terminal, finances, business development, personnel, communications, and stakeholder relations.
Lindroos possesses solid and versatile knowledge of logistics and the port business, as well as an excellent understanding of the cargo owner's perspectives and the development of port operations.
The executive is already quite familiar with the Port of Loviisa. "I have worked on development tasks at the Port of Helsinki for almost six years, and during that time, I also became familiar with the Loviisa subsidiary. I see good opportunities for its long-term development," he stated.
"The port is a multi-stakeholder environment where cooperation and networking are fundamental. I am already looking forward to meeting with port operators, customers, and representatives of the Loviisa city council, the other owner of the port, not forgetting the neighborhood associations in the area," continued Lindroos, who will assume his position on September 1, 2026.
"I am extremely pleased that we have a logistics expert like Jani at the helm of the Port of Loviisa. I would like to thank the previous CEO, Tiina Vepsäläinen, for her excellent work for the benefit of the Port of Loviisa. I also want to thank all the candidates who applied for the CEO position. We have been able to choose the best and most suitable from a highly talented group," said Ville Haapasaari, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Port of Loviisa.
