Russian drones attacked three foreign-flagged merchant ships late on Thursday, the 28th, while they were sailing through Ukraine's Black Sea export corridor, according to Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister Oleksiy Kuleba.
The aggressions caused fires on the vessels, but they were extinguished by the crews, Kuleba detailed on Telegram.
The Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority reported that the vessels were sailing under the flags of Vanuatu, Comoros, and Panama.
The Ukrainian navy previously reported an attack on the Ant, a Turkish-owned vessel flying the flag of Vanuatu. It detailed that the unit was heading to Turkey from one of the port facilities in the Odesa region.
The attack caused a fire and the evacuation of two injured crew members, it noted, adding that the ship was loaded with goods at the time.
Russia has repeatedly attacked maritime export routes during the more than four years since its invasion of Ukraine, striking ports vital for foreign trade and the wartime economy.
