Within the framework of the 'Vive Tu Puerto' (Live Your Port) campaign, an initiative promoted by Empresa Portuaria Iquique (EPI) to bring port activities closer to the academic world, the company welcomed a delegation of Foreign Trade students from the Private Technological University of Santa Cruz (Utepsa), Bolivia.
During the visit, the future professionals toured the port facilities and learned firsthand about the terminal's operations, cargo loading and unloading processes, and the strategic importance of the Port of Iquique as the main gateway to the Pacific for Bolivian foreign trade, its main client, and for the entire South American macro-region.
The activity took place in a context where EPI has strengthened coordination with transporters, customs agents, and Bolivian authorities, with the aim of ensuring operational continuity for commercial exchange despite difficulties recorded on some road routes within Bolivia, a situation that in recent months has affected the normal flow of cargo to the Pacific ports.
In this scenario, the terminal has prioritized operational fluidity and logistical certainty for users of the bi-oceanic corridor, consolidating its role as a stable platform for Bolivian trade.
Student Merly Sara Daza, a member of the delegation, highlighted the experience of visiting the port facilities. "The tour of the Port of Iquique seems very interesting to me, as maritime trade is what moves the whole world. Seeing the trucks, seeing the containers is very amazing for us Bolivians. My experience has been very satisfactory, and I invite everyone to visit the Port of Iquique."
These types of initiatives are part of Empresa Portuaria Iquique's commitment to strengthening ties with the Bolivian academic and commercial community, reaffirming the port's role as a strategic logistical platform for the foreign trade of the neighboring country.
