With the participation of local clubs, a large audience, and the presence of regional authorities, Terminal Puerto Arica held the first edition of the TPA Volleyball Cup, an initiative that reaffirms the company's commitment to the development of sports and the promotion of a healthy lifestyle.
The opening ceremony was attended by representatives from various public institutions, who highlighted the importance of creating spaces that foster formative sports and the development of children and young people in the region. In this context, Terminal Puerto Arica thanked the support of the Municipality of Arica and the National Sports Institute (IND) for making this first version of the championship a reality.
Over three days of competition, a total of 16 teams, distributed in the U-14 and U-18 categories, brought the TPA Cup to life, a tournament that brought together young athletes from different clubs in the region.
Daniel Romero, Deputy Manager of People and Sustainability, emphasized that the TPA Cup reflects the company's commitment to developing initiatives that transcend port activity and generate a positive impact on the community.
"The TPA Cup was born with the purpose of promoting sports, healthy living, and creating meeting spaces for children and young people in our region. We are very satisfied with the great turnout and the enthusiasm shown by all participating clubs, which motivates us to continue promoting this type of initiative for the benefit of the community and local sports," declared the executive.
TPA Cup Results
In the U-14 category, third place went to Leonas, second place to Urus, and the championship title was won by Pro Volley, after an outstanding performance during the tournament.
Meanwhile, in the U-18 category, third place went to Apex, second place to Pro Volley, and the championship was won by Leonas, a team that prevailed in the final and lifted the TPA 2026 Cup.
As part of the awards ceremony, the individual performance of the most outstanding athletes of the championship was also recognized. In the U-18 category, the award for Best Player went to Sofía Dietz, while in the U-14 category, the distinction went to María Paz Becerra, both of whom stood out for their technical level, leadership, and commitment during the competition.
