Murgatroyd will lead sales strategies and trade partnerships across Canada and the US. Murgatroyd's arrival signals the New Zealand-based, family-owned cruise line's commitment to the North American market.
Second-generation commercial director Aaron Russ said Murgatroyd brings more than 25 years of leadership across the travel industry, earning her a reputation for building trusted partnerships, developing successful trade strategies and delivering sustainable commercial growth.
"Meg is one of the most respected sales leaders in the North American expedition travel trade and we are delighted to welcome her to the Heritage Expeditions family," Russ said.
"Meg's appointment represents an important investment in strengthening our relationships with travel advisors and trade partners across the region.
"Her deep industry relationships, commercial expertise and proven ability to build successful trade partnerships make her the ideal person to lead this next phase of our growth in this market," he added.
Murgatroyd's experience spans expedition cruising, escorted touring, supplier management and retail travel.
Murgatroyd said joining Heritage Expeditions was a return to her expedition cruising roots.
Based in Toronto, Murgatroyd will lead Heritage Expeditions sales strategy, advisor engagement and trade partnerships across Canada and the US – one of Heritage's most important international growth markets.
"What drew me to Heritage Expeditions is it has never lost sight of what authentic expedition travel is all about," she said.
Built by conservationists, biologists and adventurers, the line has spent more than 40 years inspiring travellers to experience some of the world's wildest places with purpose and authenticity.
"With the arrival of Heritage Discoverer and an expanding global programme, there has never been a more exciting time to introduce new North American travellers and trade partners to Heritage Expeditions," Murgatroyd concluded.
