(4:25 p.m.) — American Cruise Lines has revealed that its two upcoming river ships will be named American Beauty and American Rhapsody.
Both vessels are under construction at Chesapeake Shipbuilding shipyard in Salisbury, Maryland.
American Beauty is scheduled to arrive in September 2028 and will sail the Mississippi River, offering the cruise line's 8-day Upper Mississippi River itineraries between St. Louis, Missouri. and St. Paul, Minnesota. The 180-passenger ship will also will embark on the company's new 8-Day Gulf Coast cruises, operating between New Orleans and Pensacola, Florida.
Arriving in 2029, sister ship American Rhapsody will sail ACL's 9-Day Columbia & Snake Rivers itineraries between Portland, Oregon. and Clarkston, Washington.
Both ships will feature 6 decks, all private balcony staterooms (including singles and suites) as well as top-deck lounges with walking tracks, chart rooms, main restaurants and casual cafés, and large fitness centers.
American Beauty and American Rhapsody are part of the cruise line's American Riverboat series, which began in 2018 with the arrival of American Song. The cruise line debuted American Encore in May of this year and will welcome American Anthem in April 2027 and American Grace in April 2028.
In addition to the American Riverboat Series expansion, ACL launched the Patriot-class ships American Patriot and American Pioneer in 2025 and is scheduled to welcome American Ranger in September 2026.
American Cruise Line is also set to welcome two new, as-of-yet unnamed ships after 2029, bringing its total fleet to 32 vessels.
