A fire broke out onboard the Botticelli on June 29 at approximately 4:00 a.m. while the vessel was moored in Honfleur, France.
In an official statement, CroisiEurope confirmed that emergency procedures were implemented immediately, enabling the safe evacuation of all passengers and crew.
According to a social media post by the SDIS fire department of Calvados, 163 people were evacuated, 132 of them passengers and 31 crew members.
The fire was brought under control thanks to the efforts of nearly 90 firefighters mobilized to the scene, and no injuries were reported.
The cruise line expects to start initiating procedures for passengers' return home tomorrow.
"We would like to commend the commitment, professionalism and composure of our crew, who assisted passengers with calmness and efficiency throughout the incident.
"We also extend our heartfelt thanks to the emergency services, the City of Honfleur, the Prefecture, UNASS, the French Red Cross, and everyone mobilized on site for their prompt response and invaluable support," the statement reads.
Built in 2004 and renovated in 2016, the Botticelli operates Seine River cruises.
