Motril to Inaugurate Automated Border Control System Coinciding with Operation Crossing the Strait

The Port of Motril will launch its new automated border control system to coincide with Operation Crossing the Strait (OPE). The project is part of the deployment of the European Entry/Exit System (EES) and the future ETIAS system, promoted by the European Union. The solution is based on modules housed in shipping containers equipped with automated kiosks, similar to the operational model at airports like Madrid-Barajas. European Union funding covers approximately 75% of the equipment acquisition cost and 100% of its installation.
