SAAM Towage signed a contract with Belov shipyard for the construction of four new tugboats. This project is part of its permanent fleet renewal strategy and reinforces the company's growth in that market, where it operates in 19 ports with more than 65 vessels.
The new units will be azimuthal tugs with 70 tons of bollard pull, equipped with a FiFi 1 firefighting system and designed by Robert Allan, a renowned international naval architecture firm.
"We are strengthening our operations in the markets where we participate with state-of-the-art assets. Brazil is one of the most relevant countries for our company, so our focus is on continuing to grow and offering the best service to our clients," said Renata Ervilha, Country Manager of SAAM Towage Brazil.
"We are pleased to generate value for the local logistics chain by working with Belov. This project will contribute to boosting the economy in Salvador de Bahia and reinforces our commitment to the development of the maritime industry in the area," Ervilha added.
