The Suape Industrial Port Complex renewed the security certification granted by the National Commission for Public Security in Ports, Terminals and Waterways (Conportos), a Brazilian Federal Government body responsible for the security of maritime facilities.
The complex has held this certification since 2004, and with the revalidation published in the Official Gazette of the Union, its validity is guaranteed for five more years. The document confirms that the Organized Port complies with the requirements of the International Ship and Port Facility Security Code (ISPS Code).
The renewal was granted after a technical audit and analysis of Suape's Port Security Plan, a process that attested to the complex's conformity with Brazilian legislation and international protocols aimed at protecting port facilities. The certification recognizes the state-owned company's permanent commitment to operational security and the adoption of the best international practices.
In recent years, Suape has intensified investments in technology and intelligence aimed at protecting the Organized Port. Among the main initiatives are the modernization of access control systems, the improvement of electronic monitoring —comprising a set of 322 high-definition cameras installed in the port area—, as well as the updating of user identification and accreditation mechanisms and the strengthening of inspection protocols for operational areas.
The port administration also revised the Rules for Access of People and Vehicles (NAPV), adapting procedures to the requirements of Brazilian legislation and international security standards. The work is carried out in an integrated manner with bodies such as the Federal Police, the Brazilian Navy, the Receita Federal (Customs), the National Agency for Waterway Transport (Antaq), and other institutions responsible for the protection of port facilities.
The President Director of the Suape Complex, Armando Monteiro Bisneto, stated that "this demonstrates that Suape is aligned with the highest international standards of port security. This result is the fruit of continuous investments in technology, intelligence, team qualification, and process improvement to guarantee the protection of people, cargo, infrastructure, and operations."

The continuous improvement of access control systems, monitoring, and operational management strengthens the reliability of operations and increases the confidence of shipowners, logistics operators, investors, workers, and all those who use the Organized Port," said the Director of Port Development and Management, José Constantino.
