Within the framework of the Rural Exhibition of Palermo, the Secretariat of Agriculture, Livestock, and Fisheries of the Ministry of Economy of the Nation reports that our country signed a Joint Declaration with Germany aimed at deepening bilateral work in agri-food matters, to promote the development of business in the sector between the two countries.
The Declaration, which was signed between the Secretary of Agriculture, Livestock, and Fisheries of the Nation, Sergio Iraeta, and the Vice Minister of the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture of Germany, Martina Englhardt-Kopf, seeks to intensify cooperation in agri-food policies and research, respecting the competencies, priorities, and interests of each country.
The instrument will enter into force on the date of its signing and will be valid for 5 years.
Both countries highlighted the importance of open, fair, and rules-based international trade, in line with the principles and obligations assumed as members of the World Trade Organization.
Argentina exports over USD 500 million worth of products to Germany annually, notably beef, honey, animal feed, fruits, peanuts, wine products, among others.
The German delegation was composed of German government officials, agricultural input sector entrepreneurs, researchers, and an association of agricultural producers.
